Welcome to St. James' Episcopal Church
Outreach Ministry
In an effort to follow our Lord’s mandate to feed My sheep, St. James is continuing a three prong outreach program.
· Christian Service Center with support with food and monetary donations,
· Operation Backpacks to feed underprivileged children in our school system. This is being sponsored by ECW.
· Feed My Lambs is a program which provides a bagged lunch (and soup on cold days) to those in need on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. This program needs bread, peanut butter, jam, dehydrated soup mix, fresh fruit, bottled water, cookies, bologna, sliced cheese, luncheon meat, Styrofoam cups (12 oz. with covers), plastic spoons and money to feed the people in need. Homemade corn bread and soup are needed.

As of the end of December, the number of people coming for lunches has grown to 60 per day. As people in Lake City learn about this program, they are bringing food supplies and making donations as well. The owner of the lot where we hand out food erected a shelter. First Baptist Church Charity Class gave a donation of $75.oo. One woman from Spirit of Christ Lutheran Church brought muffins and corn bread for everyone. Another woman brought cakes to the spot where the food is handed out. A man handed a member of St. James a $100 bill. Two woman asked for prayer to help them leave difficult domestic situations and restore their relationship with God. Gateway Baptist Church donated a huge chopped salad, croutons and dressing to be distributed. God is at work through the people of St. James in wonderful and mysterious ways.
We invite everyone to participate in these ministries with financial support (please mark the memo line of your check with your preferred ministry or to support all Outreach write Feed My Sheep), by volunteering your time and/or by praying for this outreach to our community.
