Outreach

Why Outreach?

Outreach has always been a very important aspect of our life at St. James. It is how we answer Jesus’ call to minister to others, especially as it is laid out for us in Matthew 25.

This ministry is carried out at St. James in two ways—one as an organized effort involving groups of people, such as Feed My Lambs, the Backpack Ministry, and the Prayer Shawl ministry; and the other by individuals who feel God’s call to carry his love into the world themselves, doing such things as visiting those in nursing homes or in prison, and preparing meals for those who are ill. Either way, parishioners at St. James are encouraged to use the gifts and talents God has given to them in service to others in Jesus’ name. We invite you to join with us in this service by participating in one of these established ministries or by talking with one of our clergy about ways you might serve individually in our community.
