Safeguarding with

Praesidium

At St. James Episcopal Church, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and caring environment for all members of our parish community, especially children and vulnerable individuals.

The Episcopal Church requires safeguarding training through Praesidium for clergy, staff, and volunteers serving in certain ministries. Training helps ensure that those who serve in our parish understand best practices for safety, healthy boundaries, and pastoral care.

Who Needs Training?

  • New clergy and staff members
  • Clergy and staff renewing certification every 5 years
  • Volunteers who work with children or youth
  • Volunteers renewing certification every 5 years

Training Requirements

Required participants complete four safeguarding courses through Praesidium. The Parish Office assists with registration, account setup, recordkeeping, and renewal reminders as needed.
